The Central library
and Language lab

A reference and news library, the Central library offers 50,000 books, 378,000 e-books, 9,800 journals and 63 databases. You can consult the entirety of these references via a dedicated search tool.

The library offers access to 63 multithemed databases: news, human sciences, art, medicine, law… They are also accessible via the rooms in the buildings that are connected to the campus network.

In addition to its numerous documentary and digital resources, the Library provides various practical services to enable you to study in good conditions.

The library keeps a collection of documents (monographs, journals, theses) retracing the Cité internationale’s history. The 64 collections of periodicals created since 1925 by the Cité internationale and its components can be found on Gallica, the National Library of France’s digital library.

The library’s collections have been enriched over the years by suggestions for the purchase of books and, above all, by numerous donations and legacies. Do not hesitate to contact us with your suggestions and proposals!

Completely renovated in 2011, the language lab, multimedia centre, allows you to perfect your French, learn 26 other languages in self-learning and participate in group conversation. More than 100 language methods available: general language, language for business, grammar, expression, written comprehension, oral comprehension and pronunciation. Preparation methods for the DALF, DELF, TCF, TOEFL and TOEIC are also available.

Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm to 7pm and Monday and Friday from 1pm to 9pm, from mid-October to mid-June.

In the summer and at Christmas, the language lab is open from Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 7pm.

In order to improve your oral expression and meet other students, native volunteers will debate you on current topics in French, English, Spanish… If you want to become a volunteer, contact us. For people registered at the language lab, registration is done online.

In addition to the resources available on site, the language lab offers a six-month individual licence for €25 only for the online Altissia method.It allows you to learn 26 languages in e-learning. Level tests and a wide range of courses are available, as well as a means to measure your progress. For French, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, all levels are represented (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).
