Donations are pooled and are not allocated to a specific project, enabling the Cité internationale to respond quickly to residents’ urgent needs and ensure the continuity of its missions.
The projects we have developed help students and researchers cope with unexpected events, health issues, or financial difficulties. Help us reduce inequalities and/or provide the little extra support that will help students get through a difficult time.
Providing the warmest possible welcome to everyone, regardless of their country of origin, is one of our priorities. We therefore pay particular attention to welcoming students and researchers in exile. The Cité internationale has established a dedicated *Residents Without Borders* programme for them, offering comprehensive support and assistance: financial aid for accommodation, social, psychological and medical support, French as a foreign language courses, guidance throughout their academic journey, assistance with the emergency reception centre located on campus, and access to sports activities.
Every year, numerous sports, cultural and artistic projects come to life on campus. Your donations will be fully allocated to projects that promote the well-being and success of our 12,000 residents from around the world each year. Thanks to your support, you help us strengthen connections and contribute to addressing today’s societal challenges.

All your questions
Everyone! You can make a donation of any amount. Donations can be made in the name of an individual, a company, a foundation, or an endowment fund.
You can choose to make a donation to support a specific project, or make a general donation, which will be automatically allocated to our current priority projects. We strive to keep the administrative costs associated with fundraising to a minimum. These costs, which cover the management and administration of our fundraising and sponsorship activities, amount to 10% of your donation. If the project you support encounters difficulties or cannot go ahead, your donation will be allocated to another project with a similar purpose.
Supporting the Cité internationale means making a tangible difference to the 12,000 students and researchers from around the world who live here each year. Every donation matters and helps the Cité internationale welcome its residents to a modern campus that provides an environment conducive to their success, enabling them to prepare for their professional future with peace of mind. It also helps us develop innovative projects in the fields of solidarity and the environment, as well as innovation, digital transformation and experimentation.
In addition, your donation may be eligible for tax relief, thanks to the tax receipt provided by our philanthropy team. In certain cases, your donation may also be eligible for donor benefits, such as the installation of a commemorative plaque, depending on the nature of the project and the amount donated.
Yes. You can earmark your donation for a specific project led by the Cité internationale. You will find the areas of support we are developing, along with the projects that fall under each of them. You can also contact our philanthropy team for more information about a specific project.
After making your donation, you will receive a tax receipt from our philanthropy team. Please keep this document, as you will need it as proof when filing your tax return with the French tax authorities.
For individual donors: when filing your annual tax return, declare the amount of your donation in box 7UF (“Tax reductions and credits”) in the “Expenses” section. This is step 3 when filing your tax return online. You may deduct up to 66% of the amount of your donation from your income tax, up to a limit of 20% of your taxable income, and up to 75% from your French real estate wealth tax (IFI), up to a limit of €50,000.
For companies: you may deduct up to 60% of the amount of your donation from your corporate income tax, up to a limit of 0.5% of annual turnover or €10,000 for SMEs.
