The monumental painting of Lê Phô, Hanoi

His imposing work, measuring 5 metres wide by 2.50 metres high, can be seen as you enter the entrance hall of the Maison des étudiants de l’Asie du Sud-Est. Entitled Hanoï, it is also known as Temps de repos d’une mère et de trois enfants dans un préau. This oil painting was created by Vietnamese painter Lê Phổ in 1926. The work was restored by the Institut National du Patrimoine in 2006 before being reinstalled and inaugurated in the house in 2008.
