The Robert Garric Residence has been located in the west wing of the Maison internationale since 1976. This house was built entirely thanks to the donation of the American philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Junior. It was designed by the American architect Jens Fredrick Larson in 1936.
The construction of the Maison internationale was completed in record time, in less than two years, thanks to the use of a metal structure, which is now completely hidden. The 150-metre-long building was divided into five sections, which were started successively during the construction period to allow for the rapid and methodical progress of the trades. The number of workers averaged 500 per day.
Thanks to its 43 houses, the Cité internationale offers a rich cultural and artistic program to all audiences : concerts, screenings, conferences, exhibitions, shows…
Discover them in our cultural agenda CitéScope.
Every house runs thanks to a professional and dedicated team. Whether they are a receptionist, planning manager, cleaner, maintenance or security personnel, everyone is committed to ensuring that your stay is as smooth as possible.
The campus is yours so take part in organising its social and cultural life! Every year residents are elected within their house. They take care of the life there and represent students concerning the house’s administration. We also encourage our residents to engage in collective projects and in the organisation of cultural and artistic events.
