Riccardo Garosci, President of the founding committee of the Maison de l’Italie

The President of the founding committee of the Maison de l’Italie, Riccardo Garosci, has a degree in economic history from the University of Milan. An entrepreneur in the food and fashion sectors, he is currently the Vice-President of the Confederation for Business Trade for Italy and the President of the Italian Association of Foreign Trade. Since 2006 he has also been the President of the Technical-Scientific Committee for Food Education for the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. A member of the European Parliament between 1994 and 1999 he was Vice-President of the Economic Committee of the European Parliament and a Special Advisor for the European Commission from 2000 until 2005. Passionate about sport, especially cars, he participated in rallies in Monte-Carlo and in the Paris-Daka four times. He won the Rally Raid World Cup in the T2 class in 2007.
