The Maison de l’Argentine is one of the very first houses built at the Cité internationale. The house was intended to serve as a home for Argentine students living in Paris and to strengthen the ties between the two countries. Its construction was entrusted to three French and Argentine architects.
The large lounge was originally decorated by six fresco murals, depicting scenes from the life of the gauchos, painted by the Argentinian painter Tito Saubidet. These frescos unfortunately disappeared in the Second World War.
Thanks to its 47 houses, the Cité internationale offers a rich programme of cultural and artistic events for all ages, as well as debates on the major issues facing the world today: concerts, screenings, lectures, exhibitions, shows… Find out more in our Citéscope cultural calendar.
Every house runs thanks to a professional and dedicated team. Whether they are in charge of hospitality, planning, cooking, cleaning, maintenance or security, they are all committed to making sure that your stay in the building goes smoothly.
The campus is yours so take part in organising its social and cultural life! Residents are elected within your house every year. They take care of the organisation and representation of residents with the house’s administration. We also encourage resident engagement in collective projects and in the organisation of cultural and artistic events.
