Shows throughout the seasons
WHO? It is always the artist who is at the heart of the project, the artist in performance, the artist in rehearsal, the artist in residence, the artist as mediator. The audience is his partner, the audience confronting, learning about, encountering the work, the artist and possibly creating the work together with the artist.
Each year the artists create with the audience a considerable number of initiatives to raise awareness, around three themes; unifying projects/in response to the schedule/ with the artists in residence.
WHAT? The schedule welcomes artists from all disciplines, combining music with theatre, the plastic arts with choreography and so on. Or vice versa. There are no preconceptions as regards the type of arts presented; it is the work and not the discipline which counts. Proposals for multi-disciplinary events are particularly welcome. The schedule is organised to give a balance between proposals for high quality popular productions and other more radical events. The popular productions attract a wide audience, which often includes families. The more radical events give little-known, often young, artists the chance to be discovered.
WHEN AND WHERE? The schedule changes depending on time and the space. It (almost) follows the succession of the seasons: a spring/summer season (April to August) and an autumn/winter season (October to February). It follows a rhythm of “points and lines”, on the one hand, events, festivals, opportunities given to young (and sometimes very young ) artists to present their work and on the other, a series of performances. Finally, it is dynamic and mobile. Shows are staged in the International Campus Theatre auditoria, but they can just as easily be presented in the open air and in the residences on the Campus.
