Every year the Cité Internationale accommodates 10,000 students, researchers and artists in its 40 houses.
“The residence isn’t located within the Cité internationale, but we still feel very much a part of it. That’s because of how important openness and friendship are within the house. The cafeteria, the computer lab and all the common areas provide perfect places to meet fellow students and create community life. The residents’ committee is extremely active and helps encourage this spirit of exchange. We have proposed various equipment and furnishings that contribute to this such as picnic tables and barbecues on the patio, board games, table football and table tennis; all these efforts encourage residents to interact and get to know one another. We also organise parties and events for residents of Lila and for the residents of other houses in the Cité internationale. Recently our house organised and invited other associations to a Caribbean celebration with music and traditional dancing.”
