LA MAISON INTERNATIONALE

HOUSE

Introduction

Since 1976, the west wing of Maison Internationale, named Robert Garric Residence, has been dedicated exclusively to housing residents of the Cité Internationale. This residence together with the Victor Lyon Foundation and the André Honnorat Residence represent the International Centre for Short Stays (CICS). Its goal is to encourage exchanges and meetings between residents from all over the world, whatever their origins, language or culture.

The Centre hosts students, teachers and researchers who are staying for less than three months. Residents are selected upon an application detailing their university career, their ambitions and their revenue.

SERVICES

A place to come together

In order to encourage the exchange of culture and ideas Maison Internationale has 13 meeting rooms for hire, for 20 to 500 people, including the magnificent Salon Honnorat with its Versailles parquet floor and marble fireplaces.

With an official public spaces listing in the highest category (ERP, établissement recevant du public) Maison Internationale has a special “conference and meetings” department, a caterer, all the necessary equipment and technical services. Every day more than 5000 people attend events of all kinds (university conferences, scientific colloquiums, conventions and other important meetings), and the spaces are even used for filming.

Focus on a major event
Maison Internationale was chosen as the site of the official ceremony for the 2008 International Francophone Day, which was attended by Abou Diouf, General Secretary of the International Organisation of the French-speaking world (and a former resident of the Cité Internationale) and the French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
