Every year the Cité Internationale accommodates 10,000 students, researchers and artists in its 40 houses.
The Deutsch de la Meurthe Foundation comprises six residential buildings constructed around a central building with its belfry and clock tower. Each house is named after scholars and former Chancellors of the French university: Paul Appell, Pierre and Marie Curie, Octave Gréard, Louis Liard, Louis Pasteur and Raymond Poincaré.
The Foundation’s 380 beds are divided among 238 individual rooms, 30 double rooms, 46 studio flats and nine two-room apartments. They are all equipped with a refrigerator, a direct telephone line and an unlimited high-speed internet connection. Renovated rooms have private bathrooms.
Residents can enjoy 15 communal kitchens, laundry, bicycle and television rooms as well as a table tennis room. The central building houses a 200 sq. m. (2,150 sq. ft.) room, a smaller 30 sq. m. (320 sq. ft.) lounge, a study room with frescoes painted by Guy Loe and a classroom.
