The project
The Cité internationale has put out a call for sponsors in order to finance the restoration of the Dutch College. The goals of the project are to improve the living conditions for residents and to return the building to its original splendour. Work will begin in 2010, and the building will reopen in 2012.

Personal account by Sylviane Tarsot-Gillery, general delegate of the Cité universitaire and His Excellency Hugo Siblesz, Ambassador of Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands to France.
“Today, the College is in a dilapidated state, and its 168 residents are subject to less than satisfactory living conditions. Renovating the building will require a considerable budget of more than €13m. The Ile-de-France region, the French Minister of Culture and Communications as well as the Dutch Ministers of Education, Culture and Sciences; of Foreign Affairs; and of Housing, Development and the Environment have committed to donating €10m, but we still need to raise additional funds.”
